What is a Registered Care Aide?

Care Aides and Community Health Workers also known as Health Care Assistants (HCA’s) “registered” with the BC Care Aide Registry receive a unique number. The Registry is governed by an Advisory Committee that continually upgrades its standards of competencies that ensures employers can be assured the care aide has a diploma/certificate from a recognized school in B.C or has been evaluated for established and current competencies. Registered HCA’s are the frontline care providers in a variety of institutional and community/residential settings. HCA’s are an integral part of the British Columbia health care system! Alpha’s care aides are supported by a team of skilled and experienced schedulers and professional management staff.

Alpha’s Care Aides

ALPHA’s care aides that provide personal/palliative and dementia care services are all registered with the BC Care Aide Registry. Care aides not registered and hired based on education and experience provide general home support services and companion care. Alpha’s care aides in addition to their education and experience are hired for their reliability and caring, compassionate nature. All care aides are reference checked, bonded and insured, and screened for a clear criminal record check. Alpha’s Scheduling and Management Team

Alpha’s experienced and skilled scheduling team is led by a Scheduling Supervisor with many years’ scheduling experience in the home care industry. The goal of her team is continuity of care aide to the best of staff availability with time firm scheduled visits. A schedule can be emailed in advance to our clients with the name of care aid and visit times. Scheduling staff can be reached 7 days a week from 6am to 10pm including statutory holidays. Our experienced and professional management staff is led by second generation owner, Don Swindell. Alpha’s Administrator has a professional designation and years of experience in the home care industry. Our administrator can help you navigate the complexity of the home health care system including information about the publicly funded home care program and community resources.
